  18. Hi Hui,

  19. In the US, average salary from recent graduates are quite widely available and commonly referred (and often by the career office of all major university). Top MBA programs are rather often compared on that very measurement! While the universities won't quite get a press conference to brag this, I don't see any of them shy in showing off their KPI (Key Performance Indicator) just like any for-profit organizations do. Very sad to see the "Ivory Towers" and top research universities are often the worst offenders in this raw competition (in all top departments - not just Business). I remember my Sociology professor in HKU once said "Business and Management don't deserve to be studied in universities" - this salary comparison could well be another supporting argument.

  20. These days, many people are still cherishing the notion that a higher education background can land you a higher paid job. When some graduates are disappointed by the reality, they think that they treated unfairly and some even question the usefulness of studying university. I think that the social attitude towards university should be changed. It is not a vocational training centre which will equip you with the skills to get a job but is a place for developing and consolidating our right attitude towards life
